Departing from the collage form of previous plays, Exodus was the third large production of Teatr Stu following Falling and Polish Dreambook. Written by the polish poet Leszek A. Moczulski, who was well-known at the time as lyricist for Polish rock bands. His work at the time was controversial among the authoritarian milieu of Poland’s government, and illustrations by Jan Sawka to a book of Moczulski’s poems was banned by Wroclaw’s regional government, though they evaded the local ban printing them in Krakow.
