Taking place in colonial India, in Man is Man Bertholt Brecht illustrates the loss of identity of an individual into an impersonal and soul-crushing system of military order and servility. It was originally produced in Berlin in 1931 with Brecht directing and starring Peter Lorre, the great Austrian actor who starred in such films as Fritz Lang’s M and The Maltese Falcon.
