A spectacularly weird and unsettling photo of Devo live at the legendary Max’s Kansas City, shot in the year of the release of their first single, “Mongoloid.” Not only an early-career photo of the band at a legendary venue, but shot by a legendary photographer: Godlis was one of the more important documenters of New York’s punk and new wave scenes. This print was struck from the negative by the photographer in 2010.
