Photograph of the gendeerqueer Warhol superstar Jackie Curtis and drag performer Wayne (Jayne) County by Danny Fields. Curtis’ first starring role in a Warhol film was in his 1971 Women in Revolt. Pioneering queer actor and musician Wayne County fronted several proto-punk bands, including Queen Elizabeth, Wayne County & the Electric Chairs, and Wayne County and the Backstreet Boys, which would go on to help shape glam punk’s sound and style.
