Announcement for Intransit magazine’s Camp Meeting no. 1, a benefit event held at in June 1968 at the publisher’s barn in Eugene, Oregon featuring screenings of experimental films by Andy Warhol, Stan Brakhage, Stan VanDerBeek, and more, along with poetry readings, “folk(s) singing,” visual-sound regressions, and an original happening.

Ticket purchase included an advance order for the August 1968 issue of Intransit’s “The Andy Warhol-Gerard Malanga Monster Issue.” This 217-page issue included contributions by major poets, musicians, writers, and filmmakers like Warhol and Malanga, as well as Lou Reed, Frank O’Hara, Joe Brainard, Charles Bukowski, d.a. levy, and Allen Ginsburg, among others.

A rare attestation of the 1960s avant-garde literary scene’s connection to the Pacific Northwest.
