This is a sample jacket gifted to Arias from Kansai Yamamoto’s 1981 collection. Yamamoto is one of the founders of contemporary Japanese fashion throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s with his aesthetic of wild maximalism and transgressive excess. Most well-known for designing costumes for David Bowie during his Ziggy Stardust era, Yamamoto is a bona fide cult fashion hero.
