Vancouver: Graceland, 1989. 3 3/4 x 4 1/2 in. Offset. Very good, slight sunning commensurate with age. Item #6019
Double-sided handbill for a performance of Justine. Justine was Arias’ first drag persona, conceived for an Andy Warhol Halloween party. Justine was such a hit that Arias incorporated the persona into his regular schedule of events and performances. Graceland was a mainstay of the gay nightclub scene in Vancouver during the late 1980s and 1990s, with their “bad boy nights” featuring live male go-go dancers. This handbill, in striking red and yellow, captures the moment that set the stage for the rest of Arias' career.
