Printed in collaboration with the Tibetan printmaker Nawang Norbu, this book by Ira Cohen's Bardo Matrix contains woodblock prints based on comic book characters such as The Silver Surfer and Professor X, and poems by Cohen. Also contains woodcuts, colophons, and emblems added by Cohen from the print shop he lived in, with mythological, occult, and stupa imagery. A fantastic Bardo Matrix publication exemplifying their handmade paper crafting technique, nontraditional publishing formats, and appropriation of American popular culture into a Nepalese artistic tradition.
