Started in 1964 as the “Bay Area Friends of SNCC Newsletter”, a youth oriented civil rights group, the newsletter rebranded as The Movement in 1965. The newspaper expanded its focus from strictly the civil rights struggle to also cover a broad range of social justice movements. This issue from late-1968 is the Che Guevara Memorial Issue, and includes a petition to keep Eldridge Cleaver out of prison, an investigative piece on George Wallace, an interview with Jerry Rubin, and more.
