This small text-only flyer produced by a committee formed in Gary, Indiana to support Angela Davis. The beginnings of deindustrialization and a sharp rise in the African-American population made Gary an important center of radical organizing in the Great Lakes region.

The flyer ends with a reworking of Davis’ book If They Come in the Morning, which in turn is a reworking of a letter she received from James Baldwin: “if they take you in the morning, they will be coming for us that night.” This version reads “If they come to take Angela to the gas chamber by night, they will come for us in the morning.”.
