Genderqueer actress, performer and singer, Jackie Curtis, sits on the floor of a bathroom at The Chelsea Hotel reading a letter alongside a colleague inside the bathtub, Viva. Childers was stage producer for Andy Warhol’s Pork and continued with the role of assistant at The Factory, where he had the opportunity of capturing some of the most intimate moments of this era. He chronicled the lives of drag queens, icons of the punk scene, and other misfits of the seventies. These photographs were compiled in a book published in 2012 Drag Queens, Rent Boys, Pick Pockets, Junkies, Rockstars and Punks.
