Aloha, first established as Hitweek magazine in 1965, was a Dutch un-derground paper with a particular emphasis on comics and contemporary music. Upon its rebrand as Aloha in 1969, the magazine served as a hub for graphic and comic artists, publishing Dutch illustrators Piet Schreud-ers and Aart Clerkx (aka Acé) along with American cartoonists like R. Crumb and Victor Moscoso. Notably, editor and co-founder Willem De Ridder–declared Chairman of European Fluxus by artist George Maci-unas–produced film programs, exhibitions, and multiple publications in Amsterdam through the 1960s and ‘70s.
