For many decades now, but certainly culminating in the 1970’s and 1980’s, the
Scandinavian countries were infested with dansband culture. Every weekend,
in rural areas, people would get together and get blindly drunk and dance to
sentimental ballads, watered down 50’s rock and easy-listening versions of
current hits as performed by professional musicians in ludicrous outfits. These
party nights were seemingly truly thrilling as they often resulted in fornication
during the all too brief window between intoxication and oblivion. These
promotional cards were handed out at the shows, and have been eagerly
collected by enthusiasts.
