[unfolded sleeve for Bloody Revolutions] Who do they think they're fooling - you?

UK: Crass, [1980]. Item #POS119

Offset. 21 ¾ x 14 ½ in. Near fine.

Gee Vaucher is a visual artist working in collage, painting, photography, sculpture, and video best known for being a founding member of Crass and producing many of their album covers and visuals. She is credited with creating an anarcho-punk visual language that combined collage, satire, dark irony, and trenchant political critique.

In this poster, which was originally used as art for Crass’s Bloody Revolutions 7’’ released in 1980, the Pope, the queen of England, the Statue of Liberty, and Margaret Thatcher’s heads are attached onto the bodies of the members of the Sex Pistols, humorously juxtaposing high and low culture. The poster was folded and used as the sleeve for the record; unfolded examples such as this one are thus extremeley rare.
