La Mamelle was a non-profit artist-run organization based in San Francisco that was active from 1975- 1995. Initially a publishing company, La Mamelle eventually opened up an exhibition space where they presented contemporary mail art, performance art, video art, photography and artists publications. This issue features Lynne Hershman, Stephen Laub, Nina Wise, Alan Bloom and Ant Farm, amongst others.
