The Burning of Los Angeles
Venice: J'ose Press, 1971. No. 100 from an edition of 150. 8 ½ x 11 in. unbound sheets in printed folder, holograph reproduction. Item #ANT202
Beautiful artist book from Jack Hirschman, one of the great radical poets of the west coast scene that coalesced around figures like Wallace Berman, Robert Duncan, David Meltzer, and Kenneth Rexroth. Known for his political activism, and books such as the groundbreaking anthology of Artaud’s writing he edited in the 1960s, Hirschman draws here on his Kabbalistic interests and activism to produce a wonderful series of poems.
