The Beginning of Sunny Dawn [signed]

Cleveland, Ohio: Ghostflower Press, 1968. Edition of 236. Sidestapled 4to in illustrated wraps. Very good with some minor yellowing to edges. Signed by d.a. levy “D.A. Levy/Swamp Erie, 1968," shortly before his death that year. Item #ANT106

d.a. levy was a poet, artist, and underground publisher. levy was Cleveland's link to the beat scene; when he was charged with obscenity for a second time, Ed Sanders and Allen Ginsberg came to Cleveland to give readings in support of him. He committed suicide in 1968, at the age of 26.

Among levy's final works, this short prose tale tells the story of Sunny Dawn, a young woman traveling through the hallucinatory landscape of the late-60s subculture in search of the “unseen underground.”.
