Film-Makers’ Cinematheque [July 1968 Program]
[New York]: Film-Makers’ Cinematheque, [1968]. Offset on blue paper. 17 1/2 x 22 1/2 in. Very good; minor edge wear. Item #6940
Poster with schedule of Film-Makers’ Cinematheque screenings and programs for the month of July 1968 including films by Gregory Markopoulos, Norman Berg, and Carl Linder; Ken Kelman’s Exercises in Film History, Lectures 29–33; and newsreels.
The venue for these programs was 80 Wooster Street in SoHo, a loft building owned by Fluxus founder George Maciunas and known as Fluxhouse II. Envisioned as a live-work space for artists, 80 Wooster was home to Film-Makers’ Cinematheque from 1967–1969 and later to Anthology Film Archives from 1974–1988.
An important artifact demonstrating the networks of artists and filmmakers in New York’s downtown art scene of the 1960s.
Price: $750.00
