Kelso was the renown artistic director of Limelight before his death from an AIDS-related illness. He often transformed the club’s layout and look to the specifications of his chosen themes, other notable parties included the Fellini night, Shirley MacLaine’s 50th birthday party, and a Monte Carlo night where the club was transformed into a Casino with a roulette table and decor to rival those of the famous Mediterranean resort.
