Times Square Show Floor Plan [2nd Floor]

New York: Colab, ca. 1980. Xeroxed flyer. 8 1⁄2 x 14 in. One sheet printed on recto only, not a complete floor plan. [complete plan and artists’ list is 6 sheets in total]. Near fine, pinholes to corners. Item #6351

Xerox of a hand-drawn floor plan of the second floor of the groundbreaking and epoch-making Times Square Show, with descriptions of works, installations, and artist credits for
the installation of the show. Staged in a four-story shuttered massage parlor at 201 W. 41st St. for the month of June in 1980, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This floor plan shows the layout of the second floor of the space. This floor of the exhibition featured the “Fashion Lounge” designed by Jean-Michel Basquiat and others, the Portrait Gallery, “Money, Love, and Death”, “92 Morningside”, and other rooms including a small space shared by Keith Haring and Kenny Scharf where they exhibited their collaborative video “The Sparkle End.”

An exceedingly rare archival document of the groundbreaking show that launched the downtown 1980s art scene.
