Phrenological Almanac for 1843

New York: OS & LN Fowler, 1842. Stereotyped by Vincent L. Dill. 44pp. Stitch sewn in original self-wrappers. 4 ½ x 7 ¼ in. Very good, foxing and light staining throughout. Item #6341

One of many publications on phrenology and physiognomy by brothers Lorenzo Niles Fowler and Orson Squire Fowler. This 1843 almanac includes phrenological charts and figures for the year with editorial stories and illustrations on the Friends’ Minister Elias Hicks, the head of James Cardinell, Siamese twins Chan and Eng, and more.

A scarce copy from prominent figures of the fad pseudoscience of phrenology in the 19th century.
