A scarce early Patti Smith broadside evidencing her admiration for the famous French symbolist poet whom she would frequently feature and reference in her poetry, performance, and
music throughout the 1970s. As many of Smith’s broadsides from this period do, “Devotions” features a drawing by Smith, this one of Rimbaud, surrounded by the text of her poem.
