Contemporary Xeroxed reproduction of Patti Smith’s review of Bob Dylan’s 1974 Planet Waves, published in the April, 1974 issue of Creem. The review, titled “Depletion Behind A Positive Mask,” is written in Smith’s typical stream of consciousness, metaphor-heavy style, and is rather gloomy on the record’s artistic merit. It appears Dylan was unperturbed by the equivocal review; both appear to be in good spirits in the photograph by Chuck Pulin of the two meeting for the first time in 1975.
