Central figures in the development of No Wave visual and narrative aesthetics, which developed concurrently with and in contrast to the more glitzy and commercial New Wave, Beth B and Scott B made films with violent themes and imagery which mine the contradictions of power and police society. In Black Box, Lydia Lunch abducts and tortures an innocent adolescent boy.
