The Auguste Pages, Vol. 1, No. 13 (June 5, 1980)

Boston: self-published, 1980. Two folded leaves, unstapled. Unpaginated. (8 ½ x 7 in.) Very good, sunning and slight edgewear. Item #6034

With a different format in a booklet style, editor Lynne Lopatin begins the issue apologizing for lack of recent publication; “Regarding the non-issues of The Auguste Pages that haven’t happened for so long… That’s what comes of taking on too many men… er, projects… at once. Why have there been no issues of The Auguste Pages? It isn’t all my fault. I don’t know who’s harder to find – Count Viglione or Howard Hughes. At least Hughes has an excuse. He’s dead.” At the end of the issue Lopatin tells fanzine publishers hoping to get reviewed or mentioned in Auguste Pages to send two copies for review as it “…doubles your chances of getting us to read stuff, because two of us – Lynne and the Count – can be doing the reading. We’re both very busy and don’t connect with each other as often as we like.”

This issue features fanzine reviews, info about WMBR radio happenings that involve Varulven Records’ bands, and The Kentrock Charts done by Janis Reed and Liz Van Dyke.
