Poster promoting doom metal band The Obsessed’s three shows in September and October in Washington DC. Poster features grainy, black and white photograph of a dark castle with a “Mainstream Pop” tarot card. The Obsessed were a short-lived yet important doom/stoner metal band from Potomac, Maryland active in the Washington DC hardcore and punk scene throughout the late 1970s to mid-1980s, present during the “Revolution Summer” movement playing with bands such as Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Fugazi, Rites of Spring, and others. The band was dissolved in 1986 when frontman Scott “Wino” Weinrich moved to California and joined influential stoner metal band Saint Vitus.
