Flyer promoting rally on Thursday, June 24, 1965 in celebration of the victory of winning back low rent housing on Houston St, with plans to continue to organize tenants in Cooper Square and St. Marks to provide enough low cost housing to meet all New Yorkers’ needs. “You Can’t Squeeze 1500 families into 600 apartments!”. The Cooper Square Committee is an active force in tenant organizing and preservation and development of affordable housing and community spaces in Cooper Square and lower Manhattan from 1959 to the present day.
