Item #5327 A Resolution to Impeach Richard M. Nixon as President of the United States

A Resolution to Impeach Richard M. Nixon as President of the United States

New York: The National Committee for Impeachment, 1972. Item #5327

Offset. 35 x 23 in. Very good.

Originally produced as two-page advertisement in the New York Times, and printed in this poster format that same year, this declaration called for Nixon’s impeachment not because of
the Watergate burglary--which hadn’t even occurred yet--but instead of the criminal wars in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. The Nixon administration sued the National Committee for Impeachment as a supposed violation of the Federal Election Campaign Act. The case was ultimately thrown out by a Nixon- appointed judge and eight days later, he won reelection in a landslide. From a time when Vietnam was still the longest- running American war.

Price: $100.00
