London: Class War, ca. 1984. 11 ¾ x 16 ½ in. Offset printed folded one-sheet newspaper. Very good condition, creased from folding with discoloration to creases, minor edgewear. Item #5217

Class War was an anarchist newspaper and organization started by Ian Bone in 1983, and was largely responsible for introducing Autonomist ideas to the London anarchist community and garnered media attention as well as attention from police and secret service for their political actions. Class War published controversial graphics such as an image of Margaret Thatcher with an ax in her head, and enthusiastically supported the striking miners, dockers, and print workers. At its height the paper was selling 15,000 copies a week, though after being passed around, the readership was exponentially higher.
