Manchester, England: 1980. 6 1⁄2 x 4 1⁄2 in. vinyl pouch. Item #5142
Factory Records founder, Tony Wilson, attended the first Sex Pistols show, but never released any of their music. Nonetheless, for Factory’s 1980 Christmas gift, Wilson delivered a gold cassette featuring interviews with members of the Sex Pistols and, strangely enough, Malcolm McLaren’s grandmother. Side A of the record is titled “Sid Vicious and Steve Jones – From interviews recorded during 1977 by Judy Vermorei”; Side B is titled: “Paul Cook, Johnny Rotten and Malcom McLaren’s grandmother.” The cassette is enclosed in a black vinyl pouch with “THE SEX PISTOLS – THE HEYDAY – Fact.30” printed in red ink.
