Program for the NAACP’s 56th Annual Convention, held in Denver, Colorado June 29 – July 3,
1965. This catalog and associated materials gathered by an unknown convention participant
showcases the more reform minded wing of the Black freedom struggle, as ads from America’s
biggest corporations and industries abound. Tipped in is the text of a resolution calling upon
the NAACP Board of Directors “to amend the Constitution to provide that the President of the
N.A.A.C.P. be elected by the assembled delegates to the National Convention.”.
