Jazz pianist McCoy Tyner, celebrated for his roles in the John Coltrane Quartet and the Art
Blakey Quartet, released over 70 albums between the 1960s and the 2000s. This poster
advertises a recording session at Keystone Korner, a distinguished jazz club in the North Beach
neighborhood of San Francisco. He released studio albums Sama Layuca and Echoes of A
Friend--from which the art on this poster is derived--with the Milestone label around this time,
a highlight of his solo career.
