Los Angeles: 1973. Black & White Silver Gelatin Print. Approx. 8 x 5 ½ in. Item #4955
Photographer Leee Black Childers began his career as stage producer for Andy Warhol’s, Pork, and continued as assistant at The Factory, where he had the opportunity of capturing some of the most intimate moments of this era. He chronicled the lives of drag queens, icons of the punk scene, misfits of the seventies and tour managed the likes of Iggy Pop and David Bowie. This beautiful candid of the former displays a rather different aura to the one of the rock star’s energy onstage, as he hangs out, barefoot, by a large fruit bowl.
