Jackie Curtis, the protagonist of this photograph, was an actress, performer, and singer who held an important role in the nucleus of talent that was Andy Warhol’s Factory. This intimate moment is captured by Leee Black Childers, photographed drag queens and the punk scene of the seventies. He was also a stage producer, tour manager and close friend to many counterculture icons such as David Bowie and Andy Warhol. Both Childers and Curtis are anchors of New York gay culture.
