Robert Williams is a 20th century painter and illustrator and one of the artists that pioneered psychedelic imagery as valid in the world of fine art. His infamous 1979 book “The Lowbrow Art of Robert Williams” thrust hot rod culture and west coast style into a highbrow context, a duality that he has explored ever since. Rigormortis Smile is a small collection of comics from the artists sketchbooks, exemplary of Williams’ the themes and characters that show up again and again in his work, including oozing monsters, sexy female heroes, blatant drug references and perverse sexual situations. This copy of Rigormortis Smile is one of a limited edition 400 print run.
