Jersey Beat was a fanzine created by Jim Testa, focusing mainly on the local New Jersey punk scene as well as bands along the East Coast at large. Jersey Beat was incredibly prolific: started in 1982, it ran up until 2007 as a print publication and still continues as an online publication to this day. Testa started Jersey Beat after graduating from Rutgers University, while he was frequenting New Jersey venues such as Maxwell’s.
This issue contains interviews with Destroy All Bands and Green, as well as stories on Richard Barone, James Mastro/Strange Cave, Yo La Tengo, and Verbal Assault.
