Includes biographical information on his personal life and development from his beginnings as an architecture student at the University of Pennsylvania to his instruction on painting under William M. Chase. The Modernist painter saw a period of artistic creation during the 1910s. Wolf analyses Schamberg’s modernist attempts at self expression in his paintings from this period.
