London: Amnesty International, 1973. (23 x 29 in.) double-sided A.B.B. Good condition. Item #4089
A collaborative fold-out mailer poster made as an initiative by Amnesty International and The International Committee to Save Michael X regarding his sentence to be put on death row for a controversial murder case deemed by Michael X’s allies as a political trial provoking racist hysteria. Michael X’s revolutionary work as a brilliant author, powerful speaker and eloquent defender of human rights is said to have been a threat to the Trinidad government. The double-sided poster has printed copies of original letters from Michael X’s affluent network pleading to prevent his execution. The letters printed included ones to or from Allen Ginsberg, William Burroughs, Kate Millett, John Lennon and Yoko Ono amongst others.
