Guy Debord was a French theorist, writer, and filmmaker best known for his book of cultural critique. The Society of the Spectacle, which would play a pivotal role in the May 1968 revolts in France. He was a member of the Letterist International and founding member of the Situationist International.
This book includes scripts from Debord’s first three films. The first edition of this book includes illustrations, however this edition is text only. A card accompanying this book states, “Pour des raisons techniques, la présente édition ne comport pas de photos.” The scripts included are Hurlements en faveur de Sade or Howlings in Favour of De Sade (1952), Sur le passage de quelques personnes à travers une assez courte unité de temps or On the Passage of a Few Persons Through a Rather Brief Unity of Time (1959) and Critique de la separation or Critique of Separation (1961).
