Count Fanny’s Nuptials: Being the Story of a Courtship
London: G.G. Hope Johnstone, 1907. First edition. 4to (7 ¾ x 10 ¼ in.) in black cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Ex-libris of the Esoterika Biblion Society. Good condition. Hinges cracked, creasing to front board. Item #4040
Rumored to have been written by the great English eccentric Ronald Firbank (though this claim has been impossible to prove or disprove) this decadent romance is adorned with seven plates of Beardsley-like drawings, prose filled with shadows, twilight, and aristocratic decadence. The seven plates are thought to be by Alastair (a pseudonym of Hans Henning Voight).
