You ever hear of a band called Chain Gang?
They’ve made a movie; it’s called MONDO MANHATTAN.
On the night of October 3rd, 2013, Boo-Hooray screened punk band Chain Gang’s almost-never-seen film, Mondo Manhattan. It was the last public screening in director/lead actor Ricky Luanda’s lifetime.
Mondo Manhattan is one of the best movies ever made. It unveils the unknown New York City of cannibal cults, Son of Sam conspiracies, Bellevue revelations, punk rock
In commemoration of the event, Boo-Hooray produced a double-sided movie poster as well as the pamphlet Notes On A Screening Of Mondo Manhattan by Michael P. Daley, a review of the screening that took place at the Producer’s Club for the Demented Film Festival in March 2012.
A few months after the screening, and right before his passing in January 2014, Ricky Luanda published the first issue of the newspaper Mondo Manhattan.
