Boo-Hooray, Deadbeat Club and Ed and Deanna Templeton are STOKED to present an exhibition of books, zines and related artworks by the Templetons at this year’s Printed Matter LA Art Book Fair at MOCA – previewed January 29th and running January 30th through February 1st.
We’ve gathered together 20+ years of rare and obscure publications, some seen for the first time anywhere. Ed and Deanna, alongside making books, have published numerous zines, some in editions as small as a couple of dozen. These flowing micro-narratives are intense snapshots into the everyday of two working artists, and hey, if you want to call them artists books we are cool with that we think.
Ed and Deanna Templeton have collaborated on a silkscreened photographic print for the exhibition, combining one of Deanna’s iconic photographs with artwork by Ed. The print will be premiered at the MOCA exhibition and sold on a first-come-first-served basis. It will also be available on the Boo-Hooray webshop for people who can’t make it to the show.
Boo-Hooray, Deadbeat Club, and the Templetons are also publishing a zine bundle consisting of reprints of some truly rare Ed/Deanna zines alongside a brand new zine by Ed. These are also available first-come-first-served.
Deadbeat Club is also publishing Deanna Templeton’s new zine “They Should Never Touch The Ground” for the Art Book Fair. This zine will be available at both the Boo-Hooray and Deadbeat Club booths.
The exhibition is curated by Johan Kugelberg, Clint Woodside, Ed Templeton and Deanna Templeton
See you there! Happy new year!
